Brazilian auto parts manufacturers take new orders.

Brazilian auto parts manufacturers signed new agreements with car makers located in the country, which will avoid imports due to the devaluation of the Real. Bosch Freios, which posted a turnover of US$100mil in 1998, signed a contract with Ford concerning the supply of parts for both the F-250 pick-up model and the F-350 light-duty truck as of next year. Bosch Freios will also supply rear brakes for Fiat's Palio Weekend car model as of the year 2000. Visteon is supplying ignition parts for Fiat's Palio. According to Fiat, the Marea car model had the number of parts produced in Brazil increased from 50% in the beginning of this year to 70% at present.
