Brazil: Nestle corrected Y2K bug.

Nestle spent R$1.2mil in Brazil to solve the Y2K bug problem. Its procedures' audit was monitored by KPMG. Nestle also forced suppliers, distributors and supermarkets to deal with the problem promptly. Thefood company's work force will not be allowed to go on vacation during December and January so as to be available for emergencies. Nestle posted gross sales of US$3bil in Brazil last year. The company has 22 plants, 12 distribution facilities and 15,000 workers in the country.
