Brazil: Embratel outsources Web security.

The long distance carrier Embratel has signed a six months exclusive contract with ISS (Internet Security Systems) and will render from March 2000 onwards outsourced networks security services. ISS aims to win a strong position in the Brazilian Internet systems market, and posted sales of US$3mil over the first six months of operations mainly from consulting services, targeting US$5mil for 1999. Embratel is to offer 15 online products based on ISS technology ranging from routers management, to firewall, and cryptography.
