South American Business Information, December, 1999
Citibank will focus on the middle market so as to grow its business in Brazil. The bank will implement a strategy to reduce business risks, since the middle market was responsible for a significant share of unpaid credits. It created five months ago a new division called Citibusiness to deal with the middle market. The division presently has 200 clients and a portfolio of US$140mil. It is expected to attract a total of 5,000 clients in 3 years.
