Argentina: Telefonica considers opportunities in cable television.

South American Business Information, January, 2000

Telefonica, that has just stroke a deal with Hicks Muse Tate & Furst to pull out from the cable television Cablevision, apparently plans to stay in the business in Argentina. The company said that the selling off 35,8% of Cablevision was due to the impossibility to firm the control in the company and discrepancies with Hick on the directions to be taken. Likely targets for acquisition are Multicanal and Supercanal both accepting international partners.
