Brazil: Visa formed alliance with Submarino.

Visa formed an alliance with the Brazilian e-commerce Web site Submarino.com so as to expand credit card operations in the Internet based on the Secure Electronic Transaction (SET) technology. In 1999, Visa's Brazilian customers' e-commerce transactions in Brazil and abroad amounted to US$50mil and the company predicts to reach US$180mil this year. Within the next 60 days, Visa will introduce the SET technology into other Web sites.
