Brazil: Petrobras and Repsol YPF to exchange assets.

Petrobras and Repsol-YPF will exchange assets until June, 2000. Petrobras will take part in Argentina's oil production and refining areas, and in service stations as well, while Repsol-YPF will take part in Brazil's. Each area is worth between US$200mil and US$300mil. Petrobras wants to operate in Argentina to maintain the leadership in Latin America. The company imports 60,000 bpd from Argentina.
