Brazil: Petrobras expects profits from optical fibers network.

Oil major Petrobras may earn R$500mil in the next five years with the exploitation of optical fiber networks alongside its oil and gas pipelines. The company intends to create a telecommunications company called Dataflux. Petrobras' network will be used to transfer data, and offered to big clients and to serve the high speed Internet 2. The main targets are telecommunications companies, and added value servicescompanies. Petrobras already controls and offer 800km of optical fiber cables to transfer data and voice in seven cities in the States of Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Minas Gerais.
