Brazil: HP unites wityh PUC - RS for R&D.

The catholic university of the State of Rio Grande do Sul and Hewlett Packard invested US$1mil to create a high performance research center, CPAD, to make researches in software and hardware architecture. CPADwill be available to all the Latin American universities, giving training, support, and hardware. The laboratory has 16 computers with 32 cluster processors. The equipment will have a capacity of 12bil mathematic counts per second.
