Peru: GMD formed strategic alliance with Sun Microsystems.

GMD, owned by the Grana y Montero group, formed a strategic alliance with Sun Microsystems in order to provide computer solutions and services into the Peruvian market. With the partnership, the companies will hold a 40% share of the high-end (corporate) market. They predictto serve 100 companies by the year 2002. The alliance will also allow GMD to develop its computer services segment, so as to make it represent 50% of the whole business (25% increase in comparison with last year).
