Brazil: Novell investing in services.

The US software developer Novell is now operating in the services segment in Brazil intending to expand its participation from the current 5% to 20% within one year, reaching a US$20mil income. The software sale represents 13% of the US$9.8bil spend with IT in the country against 30% with services. The company is offering consulting, design, implementation and management mainly for the telecommunications, finance, energy, manufactured and government areas. Novell is setting up a new office in the Northeast of the country planning to increase its turnover from US$100mil to US$125mil until 2001. The company is taking part in technology projects together with Brazilian universities estimated at US$500mil and also investing US$2mil in its Latin American support center....
