Brazil is still evaluating how to compensate Canada to avoid the US$1.4bil retaliation authorized by WTO (World Trade Organization) due to the struggle between Embraer and Bombardier . The Brazilians Simefre (Sindicato Interestadual da Industria de Materiais e EquipamentosFerroviarios e Rodoviarios) and Abifer (Associacao Brasileira da Industria Ferroviaria) were against any strategy to make easier the imports of railroad vehicles from Canada.
