Argentina: Telecom Internet launches DSL service.

Telecom Argentina owned by France Telecom and Telecom Italia, presented its new subsidiary Telecom Internet and launched the DSL service with an investment of US$35mil. This technology allows faster connection to the Web, and constant online connection without blocking the use of the line. Telefonica will also launch this service soon. This new service is already creating problems amongst future competitors. On one hand, Telecom extended the copper pairs of the telephony cable to offer the service to connection providers, who trade the product. One of them will be Telecom with its Arnet Highway brand, and they already signed an agreement for Ciudad Internet of the Clarin group to also resale. But there are other companies which also want to start operating in the DSL...
