Brazil: Rolls-Royce makes contract with Petrobras.

Rolls-Royce is to play in the Brazilian electric power generation market. The British company made a contract worth US$44mil for the construction of thermal electric power facility to the Brazilian state owned oil and gas company Petrobras. The works are in charge of thePortuguese EDP (Electricidade de Portugal) which hired Rolls-Royce services. For the first time the gas turbines manufactured Rools-Royce will be used in electric power generation in Brazil. The facility willbe constructed next to Petrobras" fertilizers plant in Fafen (Bahia) and which operations will be in charge of Energen, subsidiary of EDP in Brazil.
