Chile: Telefonica CTC Chile's network hinders competition.

South American Business Information, December, 2000

Richard Buchi, Entel's CEO, claimed that it will be necessary to separate Telefonica CTC Chile's telecoms network from other ones in order to develop competition in Chile, since that will allow third parties to make investments in IP communications. He added that Entel awaits a clear regulation about the issue in order to operate properly. On the other hand, Mr Buchi continued, Entel will take part in WLL biddings in Peru and Venezuela, which will demand investments of between US$10mil and US$40mil.
