Brazil : Visa tests e-safetransfer.

Visa do Brasil is testing e-safetransfer system: a card with a chip which allows to load it with money through the Internet. The system also allows the user to choose new services to integrate to its card adequating it to its own needs. According to Visa's officer Mr Eduardo Chedid e-safetransfer is being tested at Buzios, Rio de Janeiro state, and the expectation is to be launched in 2001 first quarter. Other banks as Bradesco, Banco do Brasil, and Itau are to use the system. Visa do Brasil moved R$2.191bil in November 2000, while in November 1999 it moved R$1.5bil.
