Brazil: Banco do Brasil to use digital certification.

The Brazilian bank Banco do Brasil launched a new resource to assure the security of the online transactions made by its clients: the digital certification. The certification will be issued by CertiSign, Brazilian subsidiary of VeriSign. Banco do Brasil is the first financial institution to offer the digital certificate in Latin America. The bank did not disclose the amount invested but in 2000 it injected R$60mil in the Internet. Banco do Brasil expects 10% of its clients or 300,000 to use the online tool.
