Brazil: Petrobras targets gas distribution companies.

The Brazilian state owned oil and gas company Petrobras is to acquire stakes in gas distribution companies Comgas (Sao Paulo), Gasmig (Minas Gerais) and CEG (Rio de Janeiro). The company aims to have a minoritystake to guarantee the supply of its gas to these companies. Petrobras participates in 13 state owned distribution companies but in neither Comgas nor Cemig. The company holds 25% stake in CEG affiliated the CEG Rio. Minas Gerais, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro represent 60% of Brazil" GDP.
