Argentina: IBM plans to grow in Internet services.

IBM Argentina announced the beginning of its operations in the local hosting market. For this plan, the company will conclude an investment of US$50mil in its development center this year. The Web hosting market will turn over US$36mil in Argentina in 2001 according to the consultancy agency Prince & Cooke. The sectors which present a high demand for this services in the country are banking and retailer chains, said Roberto Cruz, Services Manager of the Web Hosting division. IBM's hosting operations take place in its development center in Martinez in Buenos Aires, its building in the same city and in the E-business Hosting center which the company has in Diveo's premises.
