Chile: Enersis anticipates Powerline prototype.

Telecom group Enersis expects to present its Powerline pilot (low tension voice and data transmission) by September, which is sooner than expected. Also, the company will evaluate SmatCom situation to see if, through technology, the company will use the Internet perfectly. If Chilectra is put in charge of this business, there might be a monopoly situation, which is not the company's intention. When asked if the group is about to invest in the natural gas business, considering the global energetic integration, which they aim for, one company representative declared it is important to have safe access to gas, with fair prices.
