Oi launches its first advertising campaign.

Oi, the new cell phone company, is launching its first advertising campaign. The strategy is to distinguish Oi from its competitors. The investment in the campaign has not been revealed. 60% will be aimed at Rio de Janiero and Minas Gerais, with some regional content aimed at other areas. The company intends to be functioning on April 2. The final go ahead from Anatel (Agencia Nacional de Telecomunicacoes) depends on its evaluation of whether Telemar, which owns Oi, has fulfilled its installation of service requirements, which is a prerequisite for it getting permission to enter new markets.
