GM increases transactions through Covisint.

The Brazilian automobile industry will boost the B2B. General Motors, for instance, prepares to requests for quotations through the Covisint - a assemblers and suppliers relationship platform - developed by GM, DaimlerChrysler, Ford and Renault/Nissan. GM was responsible for R$180mil business against a total of R$250mil in 2001. GM is the first to use the Covisint in Brazil. Besides Covisint, GM also holds an owned portal for the change of information with almost 700 suppliers. The company will invest US$20mil in TI this year. Volkswagen has created the Net2000, where it integrates 2,000 suppliers. The site might move R$4.8bil in 2002.
