Car assemblers and auto parts producers based in Brazil reduce exports.

The Volkswagen do Brasil reduced exports by 12% over this year (Jan-May), from US$535.41mil over 2001 (Jan-May) to US$471.181mil. GM do Brasil (General Motors do Brasil), reduced foreign sales by 21,81% from US$276.96mil over first five months of 2001 to US$216.5mil over 2002. The Fiat Automoveis exports languished 52,42% (US$115.53mil this year) in comparison to the same period last year, when exports totaled US$242.803mil. On the other hand, Ford Motor Company do Brasil registered 11,38% raise on sales to foreign market, from US$151.38mil in 2001 to US$168.6mil over 2002. The auto parts producer Robert Bosch reduced exports by 18,07% to US$96.107mil between Jan and May 2002, while exports reached US$117.3mil over the same period in 2001....
