Telefonica Movil, BellSouth win new mobile communication licenses.

Telefonica Movil and BellSouth won the three mobile communications licenses tendered by the Chilean telecom under-secretariat Subtel. Telefonica Movil won two 10 Mhz frequencies paying Pesos$3,500mil and Pesos$5,400mil; and BellSouth 10 Mhz paying 257,291 UF. Both companies have put on hold investments of US$220mil - US$250mil tied to these licenses, of which US$120mil - US$150mil planned by Telefonica Movil and US$100mil by BellSouth.
