Braskem inks R$430mil contract with Rhodia-Ster.

The Brazilian petrochemicals company Braskem has entered a deal with Rhodia-Ster (Italian group M&G - Mossi & Ghisolfi) to supply 300,000 m tons of para-xylene. The 3-years term contract is worth R$430mil. The company has recently inked a R$300mil contract with Rio Polimeros, for the supply of 80,000 m tons of polyethylene. Rio Polimeros starts up in September 2004 and will use Braskem product' for pre-marketing purposes. The chairman of Braskem, Jose Carlos Grubisich said that 100,000 m tons of para-xylene will be supplied by the Camacari-based plant (Bahia).
