Sales of Cristalerias de Chile rise by 10.2%.

Cristalerias de Chile, the Chilean glass container manufacturer, which is owned by the Claro group, reported consolidated sales of Pesos$161,057mil in 2002, up 10.2% on the previous year. The good performance can be mainly attributed a rise in operating income generated by its glass business (4.9%) as well as by its Vina Santa Rita wine producer (7%) and Ciecsa (49.4%). Net profits totaled Pesos$17,661mil in 2002, a 3.5% increase on 2001 while operating profits stood at Pesos$41,610mil. Vina Santa Rita made a net profit of Pesos$9,263mil. Sales increased by 13%.
