TIM and Oi provide pre-paid roaming services; Anatel approves acquisition of TCO by Telesp.

The Brazilian cell phone services companies TIM and Oi will start up in the National automatic pre-paid roaming. The GSM clients of both companies may make and receive any type of call when in roaming in the GSM networks Oi and TIM. According to the deal, the service will cover 24 Brazilian states and the DF (Distrito Federal). Both companies target at the international roaming services. Meanwhile, the Brazilian telecom regulatory agency Anatel (Agencia Nacional de Telecomunicacoes), has approved the ownership transfer of TCO (Tele Centro Oeste Participacoes) and of its controlled - Teleacre, Telegoias, Telemat, Telems, Teleron and NBT Norte Brasil Telecom) to Telesp Celular.
