Gatorade reinforces position in isotonics.

Gatorade wants to benefit of its strategic alliance with the US basketball league NBA to improve its market position in the Venezuelan isotonic beverages market. The company is to engage in a series of merchandising promotions, and wants to improve sales that dropped on November - December 2002 affecting slightly its predicted income. Advertising investments represent around 20% of the sales of Gatorade that competes in the domestic market with Powerade. Powerage claims to have 20% on the isotonics market, but there are no surveys attesting the market figures.
