Grupo Industrial Saltillo to cut management personnel by 14%.

The Mexican GISSA (Grupo Industrial Saltillo) plans to reduce the number of its management personnel by 320 (14%) in the next two months, a measure which will save the company the sum of US$9mil annually. The cuts are the result of the need for the group to cut its operating costs, low demand in some of its business areas and the pressure of competition. Mr. Hector Zamorano, financial director of GISSA, says that the group currently has 10,500 workers, and that the number of management personnel has historically reflected the size of the group's production and sales.
