Perkins to produce engines in Curitiba.

Due to the growth in the Brazilian exports of farm machinery and construction equipment, Perkins Engines Company decided to set up in Parana state its first engines plant to be based out if England (the headquarters). The unit was inaugurated last week and, for the time being, the 55 employees just assemble the engine kits, imported from England. Despite of that, the goal is to have at least 60% of the production made in Brazil within 2 years. Perkins will produce engines (4 and 6 liters) to supply to the local manufacturers of farm machinery and civil construction and power generation equipment.
