The Brazilian mining company CVRD (Companhia Vale do Rio Doce) announced that its board approved the acquisition of four controlled - Mineracao Serra do Sossego, Docegeo (Rio Doce Geologia e Mineracao) and Aluvale (Vale do Rio Doce Aluminio). By such business, Vale takes over the management and the operation of the copper mine Sossego, based at Carajas region (Para state), as well as the bauxite mines at Paragominas.
