BM&F calls tender.

The Brazilian Mercantile and Futures Exchange - BM&F (Bolsa de Mercadorias e Futuros) is to call a tender for the expansion of the data transmission capacity and for the management of the communications infrastructure. The goal is to integrate the BM&G network with the Sao Paulo stock exchange - Bovespa - and downsize costs with infrastructure sharing. The likely bidders include Telemar, Telefonica, Primesysm Equant, Embratel and AT&T. Both networks currently have an annual consumption of R$10mil and the expectation is to reduce the largest part of such cost. The investments of BM&F in IT increase by 8%-10% per year and for 2004 it predicts R$40mil. BM&F currently moves R$25bil per day - 800,000 operations....
