Cell phone communication boost results of fix phone services carriers.

The Brazilian telecommunications sector has presented good results for the Q1 2004 (Jan-March) pushed by the increasing cellular telephony. The expansion of the cellular phones even benefited the fix phone services carriers that reported a growth in the income with calls between fix and mobile phones. Telefonica, for instance, showed a turnover 8.1% higher with calls between fix and cell phones if compared to the past quarter. The turnover of Brasil Telecom grew by 14.4%. However the traffic among the fix phones fell, says Banco Brascan.
