AES Gener to seek damages from Argentinean gas suppliers.

AES Gener, the Chilean electricity generation company which is owned by the US energy group AES, and its local subsidiary Sociedad Electrica Santiago have appealed to the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) for arbitration against its Argentinean natural gas supplier Petrolera Santa Fe (Petrobras Argentina) and its partners Mobil Exploration & Development Argentina, Atalaya Energy, Canadian Hunter Argentina and Total Austral. AES Gener plans to seek damages caused by constant cuts in natural gas supplies. The cuts have been affecting the company's operations since April 2004.
