There is only one Canadian financial report scheduled to be released today, the March international merchandise trade. As well, the Bank of Canada will release the details of its upcoming May 26, 5-year bond auction and also release the details of its 5-year bond buyback.

Canada's merchandise trade surplus rose to C$2.611 billion in March, from a revised surplus of $2.491 billion in February, Statistics Canada reported today. The value of imports in March totalled $26.385 billion, while the value of exports totalled $28.996 billion. The data were at the strong end of analysts' forecasts of a trade surplus between $2.2 billion and $2.6 billion.
