Canada's Farm Environmental Program Gets C$10 Million.

WINNIPEG, MB, June 12, 2000 (RESNEWS) -The Government of Canada will invest C$10 million over the next three years to help farmers across the country continue work on key environmental issues, Agriculture and Agri-Food Minister, Lyle Vanclief said on Friday.

The funding will go towards national environmental priorities including soil health, wildlife habitat and biodiversity, as well as greenhouse gas emissions and water quality.

The $10 million in national funding will come from the $60- million-a-year Canadian Adaptation and Rural Development (CARD) fund and be administered through industry-led CARD councils in each province and territory.
