Canadian Dollar And Business Outlook.

There were no significant Canadian economic releases Thursday from Statistics Canada.

The Canadian dollar was trading at 76.50 US cents (C$1.3072) early in the session, weaker than Wednesday's North American closing level of 76.70 US cents (C$1.3038).

Profit-taking, consolidation and a stronger US dollar all combined to push the Canadian dollar lower in early North American trading, source said.

The Canadian unit soared to its highest level in almost ten years on Wednesday off of positive August retail sales figures and comments from the Bank of Canada's semi-annual monetary policy report.
