Wheat Watch: CBOT Called Steady To 1 Cent Lower.

Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures are called steady to 1 US cent per bushel lower at Tuesday's open, pressured by better US and Canadian harvest weather and follow through technical selling. However, a short-covering recovery after recent weakness could keep the losses in check.

The US spring wheat crop was 81% harvested as of Sept. 19, which compares to 100% a year ago and the average pace of 94%, the USDA reported Monday. Roughly 29% of the country's winter wheat crop was planted as of Sept. 19, up from 27% the previous year and average plantings of 23%.
