Wheat Watch: CBOT Called Steady to Slightly Lower.

Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures are called steady to 1 US cent per bushel lower at Tuesday's open, pressured by good seeding and early growth of the US winter wheat crop and a lack of fresh news to drive the market. However, short-covering after Monday's losses may help underpin the market. CBOT wheat futures were unchanged to 1/4 US cent lower in overnight electronic trade. Today's US election may limit some of the activity in the commodity markets.

The US winter wheat crop was rated at 78% good-to-excellent in the USDA's latest crop report, released late Monday. The crop improved 2% from the previous week and compares with only 49% good-to-excellent at the same point a year ago....
