Canadian Dollar And Business Outlook.

The Canadian dollar was stronger Thursday morning in choppy trade.

Market players were waiting for a speech from Bank of Canada Deputy Governor David Longworth later in the day which may provide some clues regarding monetary policy.

Broad-based gains in the US dollar weighed on the Canadian currency early in the session. However, the US dollar has since retreated, helping the Canadian dollar move higher. Higher oil prices were also supportive for the commodity based Canadian dollar, said analysts.

In domestic data, foreign investors bought C$1.84 billion worth of Canadian securities in January, all of which was in debt instruments, reported Statistics Canada. Foreign...
