Market Talk: Oats Cash Prices to Rise with Futures.

Oats futures prices at the Chicago Board of Trade have been 
moving up in recent weeks and cash prices are likely to follow, 
according to sources. Price increases have been credited to heavy 
rainfall in Manitoba and the US corn market. 
 
An oats miller in Manitoba said cash prices there are over C$2 
per bushel, but feels that number probably dips under C$2 in 
Saskatchewan and Alberta. He said the crop in Manitoba is ruined, 
but conditions are much better in the west. 
 
"What's really driving futures prices is the US corn market," the 
miller stated. He said all feed prices are going up as the
