WINNIPEG, MB, Jan 16, 2005 (Resource News International via COMTEX) -- The Canadian dollar was trading at fractionally higher level in early Monday morning activity. The closure of US financial markets for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday resulted in a very thin range-bound trade, market watchers said.

No fresh economic news was released in Canada Monday.

"It's been really quiet for U.S. dollar-Canada and is probably going to keep on being that way," George Davis, chief foreign exchange technical analyst at RBC Capital Markets said. "It's just been two-way interbank flows that have been generating the trading range."
