Midday WCE Futures: Higher On Gains In CBOT.

Winnipeg, Mar 30, 2006 (Resource News International via COMTEX) -- Grain and oilseed futures at the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange (WCE) at midday on Thursday are higher with the firm tone in Chicago Board of Trade futures supporting the market, brokers said.

Activity was subdued ahead of Friday's US Department of Agriculture planting and grain stocks reports.

Canola posted small gains in light trade with intermonth spreading accounting for over half the volume as the May/July spread continued to be heavily traded. The total canola volume at midday was estimated at 4,745 contracts.
