WCE Grain/Oilseed Review: Mixed, Canola Lifted By Late CBOT Gains.

Winnipeg Apr 18-RNI, Apr 18, 2006 (Resource News International via COMTEX) -- Winnipeg Commodity Exchange (WCE) grain and oilseed futures closed Tuesday's session mixed with canola higher in the wake of the late strong upward surge in Chicago Board of Trade soyoil futures, brokers said.

Canola saw a heavy trade with intermonth spreading accounting for the bulk of the activity. Commodity funds are felt to have completed the move of their May short positions into the July contract and today's spreading was felt to be commercially dominated.

An estimated 6,842 contracts were involved in the spread trade with the total canola trade estimated at 10,019 contracts, down from Monday's 12,558...
