Midday WCE Futures: Higher, Canola Up On Weather, CBOT.

Winnipeg, Jun 30, 2006 (Resource News International via COMTEX) -- Grain and oilseed futures at the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange (WCE) at midday on Friday are mainly higher with canola seeing strong gains on concerns about hot dry conditions in western Canada and an the big advance in Chicago Board of Trade soy complex futures, brokers said.

Evening up was noted ahead of the Canada Day long weekend. The WCE will be closed Monday, but reopen on Tuesday, July 4th.

Canola saw a light trade with only small amounts of intermonth spreading with the Jan07/Nov07 and Nov/Nov spreads attracting the best interest. Commercials were the main spreaders. An estimated 3,880 contracts of canola had traded by...
