Winnipeg Oct 4-RNI, Oct 04, 2006 (Resource News International via COMTEX) -- Winnipeg Commodity Exchange (WCE) grain and oilseed futures closed Wednesday's session mainly higher with canola rallying in step with the late Chicago Board of Trade soy complex gains, brokers said.
Position evening was noted ahead of the report which is generally expected to show higher production than the Aug production estimate.
Canola noted a moderate trade with intermonth spreading enhancing the trading volumes.
An estimated 5,584 contracts were involved in the spread trade with the total canola volume estimated at 10,248 contracts, up from Tuesday's 7,861 contracts.
