WCE Grain/Oilseed Review: Canola Hits Highest Level In 2 Years.

Winnipeg Oct 24-RNI, Oct 24, 2006 (Resource News International via COMTEX) -- Winnipeg Commodity Exchange (WCE) grain and oilseed futures closed Tuesday's session higher with feed grains setting fresh contract highs while canola hit its highest level in 2 years in the wake of the rally in Chicago Board of Trade soy complex futures, brokers said.

Canola trade was heavy with intermonth spreading enhancing the volumes as funds were noted in the Nov/Jan spread, although the bulk of the spreading was felt to have been done by commercials.

An estimated 7,740 contracts were involved in the spread trade with the total canola volume estimated at 14,259 contracts, down from Monday's 15,753 contracts....
