Midday WCE Futures: Canola Down on Slow Demand.

Winnipeg, Apr 03, 2007 (Resource News International via COMTEX) -- Grain and oilseed futures at the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange (WCE) at midday on Tuesday were lower as canola was undermined by the continued lack of demand, brokers said.

Canola saw a very light trade with intermonth spreading also described as light. The May/July spread attracted most of the interest. The total estimated volume was estimated at 2,810 contracts by midday.

Canola opened lower on the weakness in the Chicago Board of Trade soy complex with the absence of significant fresh export pricing contributing to the price slide. Also weighing on the market was talk that at least one company was offering premiums in western...
