Midday WCE Futures: Canola Firm On Crusher Deamnd.

Winnipeg, Apr 10, 2007 (Resource News International via COMTEX) -- Grain and oilseed futures at the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange (WCE) at midday on Wednesday are mixed with canola up on the lack of significant selling and strong crusher buying interest, brokers said.

Canola saw a moderate volume with about 60% of the activity involved in the spread trade with most interest in the May/Nov and July/Nov spreads. An estimated 7,323 contracts had traded by midday.

Canola opened a bit higher following the Chicago Board of Trade and then turned choppy as the US soybean market turned lower. When the CBOT soy complex rallied back canola came back with it.
