Market Talk: No C$/US$ Parity Seen In 2007/08.

WINNIPEG, MB, Jul 12, 2007 (Resource News International via COMTEX) -- The following is a collection of opinions of traders at the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange and Canadian grain industry representatives.

The chances of the Canadian dollar moving to parity with the US currency during the remainder of 2007 and in 2008 were pegged as very remote.

"The Canadian dollar is not expected to move to parity with the US currency anytime soon," confirmed a Toronto-based currency strategist.

He said the reason for that will not be based on activity on the domestic front in Canada, but rather based on the outlook for US interest rates and monetary policy from the US Federal Reserve.
